Terms of Service

3.1 Core Functionality

Overland Studio provides a platform for discovering, sharing and reviewing wild camping locations. The Service includes:

• Interactive map with wild camping locations
• Ability to add locations with photos and descriptions
• Review and rating system for locations
• Community system for user groups
• Gamification elements (scores, CamperCoins, achievements)
• Travel log functionality
• GPS navigation and check-in capabilities
• Offline access to cached locations

3.2 "As-is" Service

The Service is provided "as-is" and "as available". We make no warranties that the Service:

• Will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free
• Is free from viruses or other harmful components
• Is completely safe or secure
• That information is accurate, complete or current

4.1 Creating an Account

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. When registering, you are required to:

• Provide accurate, current and complete information
• Keep your account information up to date
• Choose a secure password and keep it confidential
• Be responsible for all activities on your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

4.2 Account Suspension and Termination

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion and without prior notice, to suspend or terminate your access to the Service if:

• You violate these Terms
• You engage in illegal or inappropriate activities
• Your account has been inactive for an extended period
• We are legally required to do so
• We discontinue the Service

5.1 Code of Conduct

When using the Service, you agree NOT to:

• Post illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise inappropriate content
• Provide false, misleading, or inaccurate information
• Infringe upon intellectual property rights of others
• Send spam, phishing, or other forms of unwanted communication
• Upload malware, viruses, or other harmful code
• Use the Service for commercial purposes without our permission
• Use another person's account without permission
• Use the Service in a way that could damage or disrupt it
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers)
• Perform reverse engineering, decompilation, or disassembly of the Service

5.2 User-Generated Content

You retain all ownership rights to content you post (locations, reviews, photos, comments). By posting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:

• Use, reproduce, and display within the Service
• Modify for formatting and technical purposes
• Translate to other languages (if applicable)
• Share with other users according to your privacy settings

5.3 Content Moderation

We reserve the right, but have no obligation, to:

• Monitor user-generated content
• Remove content that violates these Terms
• Warn or block users who violate these Terms
• Cooperate with authorities regarding illegal activities

6.1 Informational Purpose

Information about wild camping locations on the Service is for informational purposes only. We make no warranties about:

• The accuracy or currentness of location information
• The legality of camping at shown locations
• The safety or suitability of locations
• The presence of facilities or amenities
• Weather or terrain conditions

6.2 Own Responsibility

You acknowledge and accept that:

• You are responsible for checking local laws and regulations
• You must obtain permission from landowners where required
• You must assess the safety and suitability of a location yourself
• You camp at your own risk and use our Service at your own risk
• You are aware of the risks associated with outdoor activities
• You are responsible for your own safety and that of others
• You respect nature and follow "Leave No Trace" principles

6.3 Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are NOT liable for:

• Direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service
• Loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses
• Property damage or personal injury during camping activities
• Violations of local laws and regulations by users
• Inaccurate information provided by other users
• Disputes between users
• Changes to locations or conditions
• Technical failures or Service outages

8.1 Virtual Currency

CamperCoins are a virtual currency within the Service with no monetary value. They can be earned through platform activity but CANNOT:

• Be purchased with real money
• Be exchanged for real money
• Be transferred to other users
• Be sold or traded
• Be considered as property

8.2 Scores and Rankings

Scores and leaderboard rankings are intended for gamification and community engagement. We reserve the right to:

• Change the points system
• Adjust scores in case of fraud or abuse
• Reset leaderboards (weekly/monthly)
• Exclude users for unfair conduct

8.3 No Guarantees

We make no guarantees that gamification elements will always be available. We may change or remove these features at any time without prior notice.

13.1 Dutch Law

These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to conflict of law rules.

13.2 Dispute Resolution

In case of a dispute between you and Overland Studio:

• We first attempt to resolve the dispute internally via support@overlandstudio.eu
• If that fails, either party may submit the dispute to a Dutch court
• The courts of Rotterdam, Netherlands, have exclusive jurisdiction

13.3 Consumer Rights

These Terms do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under Dutch and European law.

15.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Overland Studio regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements.

15.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in effect.

15.3 No Waiver

Failure to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.

15.4 Assignment

You may not assign your rights under these Terms. We may assign our rights to a third party, for example in case of acquisition.

15.5 Language

These Terms are available in Dutch and English. In case of differences between translations, the Dutch version prevails.
